I can remember the time, like a picture in my mind

I see it so clearly, I was just a child

Running around everywhere dressed in my white underwear

Playing like Tarzan without a care

Life was so simple when I was a child

Daddy would ruffle my hair, throw me high up in the air

When I’d come down he would always be there

I knew that my daddy would always be there

I know that my Father in heaven He cares

For more than my songs or the clothes that I wear

Now that I’m older life is not always fair

Still, I know that my Father in heaven will always be there

I can remember the time, like a picture in my mind

I see it so clearly, I was just a child

Mama would hold me so tight when I would cry in the night

Every nightmare would fade out of sight

When Mama was there things would turn out alright

I know that my Father in heaven He cars

For the flowers in the field and the birds in the air

Now that I’m older life is not always fair

Still, I know that my Father in heaven will always be there

I know that my Father in heaven He cares

For the flowers in the field and the birds in the air

He knows each burden in life that we bear

I know my Father in heaven

You can know your Father in heaven

So call on your Father in heaven

He’ll always be there
